When I watch you sleep
arms and legs askew across your bed
tiny eyes closed tight, blocking out the pale moon light
your little mouth hangs open
not a care in your world
now I realize...
why God gave me eyes

God hid your wings inside my heart
so you could set me free

if you could only see
the joy you bring to me
I hear your laughter
ringing through the hallways of our home
giggles here and there
your joy fills the air
count to ten, then run and hide
you laugh so loud, I found you
now it’s finally clear...
why God gave me ears
When I hold you so
hugs and kisses seem to make this whole
you wake in the night and Mommy holds you tight
It’s cold outside, here snuggle close
there’s room enough inside my coat
to keep you safe and warm...
